San Chirico Nuovo is located in the interior of the Basilicata region, in the heart of the Lucanian Apennines, at an altitude of about 800 meters above sea level. The elevated position offers panoramic views of the surrounding natural landscape, ideal for lovers of hiking sports and outdoor excursions.

Very ancient, born in the 6th century BC, it expresses all its beauty in the works of art preserved in the Mother Church of San Nicola di Bari, in that of San Giovanni, in the high wrought iron railings that characterize the views of the village and in what is left of the three floors of the feudal castle, where the furnishings of the time are still preserved.
